Foam Systems

Foam fire extinguishing systems consist of special equipment for water supply, containers housing foaming liquids and a series of valves and pipes leading the extinguishing material to the point of use of the equipment. As the flames develop, the foam is released from the system directly onto the burning surface.

For the protection of specific risks such as deposits of flammable liquids, chemical companies, aircraft hangars, etc., foam systems (High, Medium or Low expansion) find application where other types of extinguishing agent would not be able to act with effectiveness.

These systems are first of all designed after a correct assessment of the risk to be protected and the choice of the type of suitable foaming liquid, as well as of course on the base of the hydraulic calculations for the sizing of the pipes, and necessary water and stored foam volumes, according to the applicable regulations.
